Though my children always design their own basket each year, the base is always an old cereal box or milk carton. This is a good craft for any time of year as kids love to carry their collections around – to school to show classmates, to a friends house, to their granparents place...
Just cut away panels from the front and back of the box leaving the height of your basket; then taper the sides to form a handle; and staple together at the top.
It is good to do your decorating before stapling it together.
