A trip to a riverside or beach can yield some good rock collections. But what to do with all the rocks the kids lug home??
My daughter used water-based glass colours to make these little designs on her rocks. They are great to give as gifts, and make nice good luck charms to keep in your pocket. Like worry stones.

ooh, i really love these rocks!! you should knit some little mojo bags to carry them in. I used to love love love painting rocks. I should get started on that again!!!
